Instinctual Lab publishes four years of performance data from Nunatak Station

Nunatak Station in the low summer sun
07 — Nunatak Station in the low summer sun

Instinctual Lab has published four years of measurements from Nunatak Station: temperatures through the walls, energy use, snow drift and wind around the modules and along the drift wall, logged every ten minutes since it opened in 2021.

The data shows the drift wall holding the snow sixty metres upwind through all four winters, and the heat loop keeping fuel use at about half that of a conventional base of the same size. The dataset is available to research institutions on request.
